Minutes AGM 7pm Wednesday 9th April 2014

 

Present:
Andy Sweeney, Brian Kay, Bruce Santer, Colin Lindsell,  John Edwards, John Parsons, Keith Rutter, Lyn Santer, Nigel Etheridge and Phil Lee.

Agenda

Last years AGM Minutes from 2013 AGM read by Bruce Santer. All agreed it was a true record. 
No Matters Arising
Treasurer Report - Lyn Nearly £600 in bank but after retention of monies to cover balls and deposit money that maybe required, there would be a surplus of approx. £300.
Handicaps - Bruce Following last years change. Handicaps working well , no change recommended.
Captains Report Keith Rutter Thanked all for supporting the monthly events and for those members who had organised those events. The new system appeared to be working well.
Election Officers The three concerned as above put their names forward and were unanimously voted in.
Captains Cup /  Dorset ? A discussion took place concerning these weekends and it was agreed by the meeting that :
The Club Championship will continue to take place at Wildwood in September over 27 Holes for the right to win the “Captains Cup” (This has been subsequently booked by Lyn for Sat. 
6th September – see further details on the web)
The Dorset weekend of 18th 19th & 20th July will now be known as “Captains Day” albeit over 3 days. Format to be decided by a sub-committee. 
Prize giving Saturday 15th November 2014 has provisionally been booked. The same band will be booked if available. Colin to seek menu/costs by the current caterers employed in BRYC.
AOB The health of Brian Clist was sought but the meeting were told that he passed away in January 2014. Agreed that Lyn would send a card with our condolences to his widow. It was agreed that a cup be purchased by the captain to be known as “Brian Clist Cup” for the singles winner over the Dorset weekend.
